Trip Overview

The Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most rewarding journeys in the Everest region, offering a perfect blend of high mountain adventure, culture, and dramatic scenery. This trek introduces you to some of the world’s most magnificent peaks, including Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, and Lhotse, while taking you deep into the heart of Sherpa land.

The journey begins with a trek to Namche Bazaar, the largest and most vibrant Sherpa village in the Khumbu region. From here, the trail leads through Sagarmatha National Park, past traditional villages, ancient monasteries, and breathtaking viewpoints. Highlights include visits to Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, and the famous Tengboche Monastery, where you gain insight into the spiritual life of the Sherpa people.

A major highlight of this trek is walking alongside the massive Ngozumpa Glacier—the longest glacier in Nepal—and exploring the stunning turquoise Gokyo Lakes, set high in the Himalayas. Crossing high passes such as Cho La or Renjo La adds adventure and panoramic views rarely seen on standard Everest routes.

With overnights in Namche Bazaar, visits to Khumjung village and the Hillary School, this trek offers both cultural depth and physical challenge. Designed for trekkers seeking something beyond the classic trail, the Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp Trek is demanding yet deeply fulfilling.
